Wingtorn 3: Arrest returns to your ears July 2021!
Fingal pressed his lips together in a contemptuous smile as he held up his bandaged hand. “Off to a roaring start.”
He inhaled sharply and pursed her lips—her eyes suddenly wide as she stared right at him. “I tried…and I wasn’t fast enough…”
Fingal glanced at the destroyed scaffolding. “Is this an interrogation, Captain?”
She reached out a hand as one of the red embers grazed her cheek and faded into her skin.

He would rather die than not be in control of his actions.
He would remember this moment. He would find the people who did this to his parents and make them pay.
She couldn't be like her mother, allowing people to participate and revel in her exterior beauty, and warp it to serve ulterior motives.
She longed for a love he wasn't sure he was ready to give...if he had any at all.
