RATING
Bob Eckstein and Michael Shaw, that was a great episode.I have to say though, that you are household names at my house, as are many other cartoonists...not only Roz Chast. On many occasions, my husband and I quote cartoons, the one that we quote the most being Tom Toro's "Take off that dust jacket, baby." and Joe Dator's "you totally got that from me."My point being, don't undersell your actual reach...you reach more people than you probably know.I was sad about the prospect of there no longer being "career cartoonists" and I hope that Matt Diffee decides to create more cartoons at some point in the future.I am very much looking forward to the next Rejection Collection book. And my last thought is that I think the Moses/UFO cartoon is great, but it has such a juxtaposition that it may end up in the caption contest (which wouldn't be a bad thing to me).
A must-listen for fans of New Yorker cartoons and the cartoonists who create them, as well as those who are enthusiasts of the weekly caption contest.
I have always been a big fan of Nick Downes and really enjoyed this in depth discussion with him. A must-listen.
