SHOW NOTES:

In Podcast Episode 264, “The Lord Raised Up…” Kim discusses the difference between having the Lord raise someone up against you due to your insistence on doing evil and being raised up by the Lord for His good purpose. As we saw in the last episode, King Solomon insisted on his own way, which was disastrous for himself and the people of Israel. I pray that each of us will insist on being exactly who the Lord raised us up to be.

Our focal passages for this episode are 1 Kings 11:14-25 with verse 14 and 23 as the focal verses:

14 Then the Lord raised up Hadad the Edomite, a member of Edom’s royal family, to be Solomon’s adversary.

23 God also raised up Rezon son of Eliada as Solomon’s adversary. Rezon had fled from his master, King Hadadezer of Zobah,

WEEKLY ASSIGNMENT FEATURE:

Prayerfully consider what the Lord may have raised you up to do.

May You make Your home in her(/his) heart as she trusts in You. May her roots grow down into Your love and keep her strong. And may she have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep Your love is. May she experience Your love, though it is too great to understand fully. Then may she be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from You. Now all glory to You, who is able, through Your mighty power at work within her, to accomplish infinitely more than she might ask or think.
