If foster care is a necessary invention, mental health wellness is a very close cousin. Between living in foster care from the age of six until 18 years old, to barely graduating high school with a 2.0 GPA, working in bars, strip dancing, and being labeled a “bad girl”. B.A. Crisp opened her eyes to life’s constant reinventions. But when she finally got hold of where she was heading in life, she decided to make the best out of it. Today, she’s left a mark on others with her efforts, education, and knowledge. Excited to learn about the events and experiences that led her to this point? Don’t miss this episode!

Meet B.A. Crisp, a best-selling author, advisor, and “thriver”! You’ll hear B.A. and I discuss several human topics, which we must know but have little to no knowledge of, including human trafficking, psychiatry, psycho-psychological human conditions, strip club operations, and legal challenges faced by dancers, sexual harassment, gender equality, and a lot more. B.A. explains how her life’s journey led her to understand (and live) many of these issues and how she’s used those times as a learning tool to help others who’re navigating them now.

Episode Highlights:
You’ll have your ups and downs in life. Accept them. But learn from your tough times. She recollects having had a period of time filled with bad decisions, such as bars and strip dancing. Then, she’d tried enrolling in local community colleges a couple of times, but she'd quit if she did not believe in herself enough. Eventually, something clicked, and she went back to school and finished.

Life is your best inspiration sometimes. B.A.'s mother was diagnosed as paranoid schizophrenic, a condition many were unaware of back then. She explains how that led her to study the supernatural, remote viewing, and visualization, as well as the science behind it all. She uses her interest in fiction to reconcile her mother's illness, and create a character with a similar experience.
