Sogand Zakerhaghighi is a 26 year old female living in Elleslie. She has been living in this part of the city for over five years. In this time, she graduated from the University of Alberta with her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Sociology. She also got accepted into City University of Seattle for her Masters in Counselling that she will complete in October of 2018.   She works in the non-profit sector and is an active citizen specializing in the areas of domestic violence, family violence, LGBTQ rights as well as human trafficking awareness. She identifies as a Shia Muslim and adheres strongly to the principles of her faith as well as her Iranian-Canadian identity.
