We're surprising our Stretched! community with a bonus episode from the directors of Joffrey Texas, Kenny Borchard and Mauro Villanueva. Husbands Mauro and Kenny, having both had long careers in professional dance performance and teaching, took over the Joffrey Texas Summer program 5 years ago. In this episode (without Liz, she was on a much needed vacation), Mads, Kenny and Mauro discuss the progress we've made in dance training -- culturally we're much more aware of developmental and age appropriate expectations we can place on young dancers. And -- there's still so much more to go. Joffrey Texas and its incredible instructors are running (or leaping) as far they can in the way of accessibility and inclusion. For any parent or dance educator needing some guidance on introducing their kids to exceptional and loving dance training, done virtually and in person, need look no further.
Joffrey Texas' Summer Intensive launches Monday, July 5th for the remainder of July. True to the ethos of JT, all classes will be pay what you can on a sliding scale basis. There are also options to pay it forward for young dancers to take class while ensuring their all star teachers get compensated! We love to hear it!
