This is the first of a three-part miniseries called, I Lived in a Cage. The subtitle for this part, “How I Came to Live There”, In it, I explain what the cage is, how it was built and how I came to live there. The premise is that the cage is supposed to be a place where we sometimes go when we need protection or when we need to figure out how to deal with things that challenge or threaten us. It’s a place we can go to regroup. And it should be temporary, like a short getaway. Unfortunately for me, the cage was more than just a short-term break. I took up residency there.
