Delighted to have the opportunity to speak to Daniel Lascau, 7th Dan and IJF Sports Director. Born in Romania in May 1969 and starting judo at the age of 4, judo has definitely been a huge part of Daniel's life.
In this episode, Daniel talks about starting judo, his competitive career including how he came to represent Germany and going on to win the 1991 World Championships, through to his remarkable working career including his role of Performance Director for the British Judo Association for the 2012 London Olympic Games and the highlights, challenges and priorities during his time in the UK.
Daniel also plays a huge role in the IJF Academy, delivering coach education all around the world, all while studying for a PhD at the University of Hertfordshire.
