Congressman Justin Amash is the U.S. Representative from Michigan's third district, where he's served since 2011. On July 4, 2019, Rep. Amash left the Republican Party, thereafter serving as an independent for about nine months. In April 2020, however, he officially joined the Libertarian Party, becoming the first registered Libertarian in congressional history.
