Today I'm joined by a good friend Alex Koster, whom I have known for the last 20 years and she totally shocked me with her life story.

Alex has written the best-selling book Roots and Wings.

Alex shows us how mindfulness and nature can reconnect us back to ourselves by -

Spending time outdoors.

Relationships with animals and natural elements.

Awareness of the origin of our food, clothes, and other everyday items.

Creative connection through poetry, dance/movement, painting, writing, and other aspects of the arts.

Nutrition and natural medicine.

Gardening.

Mindfulness in and about Nature.

Social and environmental activism.

Spiritual rituals and connection.

I've known Alex for a long time, this is the first time I found out that she suffered so badly from panic attacks in her 30s. She kept them very hidden from her friends.  She described them as feeling like she was going to die.

Alex found it hard to get the answer to what was going on.  She found it very tough to get help from her GP.  No one suggested trying alternative medicine like acupuncture, herbs, life coaching, or homeopathy.

She talks about the disconnect between the GP and other therapies that can help you.

Alex talks of the loneliness of her journey.

More importantly how she turned her life around and is now running her own business.

Love Lucy
